Why I built OC Test Prep
Hi, I'm Mina and I'm a parent of two young children in NSW. They're not old enough for the OC test yet, but they will be before I know it. And when that time comes, I want the best possible preparation tool available to them. I don't think that books work well for a digital test and I don't feel like tutoring is the right fit for our family. So I built the product that I want.
Every feature decision, quality standard, and choice about user experience is made through the lens of "would I want this for my kids?" That personal investment means every family who uses OC Test Prep benefits from the highest possible standards and that we're here for the long term.
My background
I bring deep expertise in building consumer products people actually want to use, combined with a personal track record of testing excellence.
Testing excellence
I've excelled at high-stakes standardised tests throughout my education — PSAT, SAT, GMAT — achieving scores that admitted me to Cornell University (Computer Science) and later to top-tier business schools and companies. Before that, I attended University of Toronto Schools, one of Canada's most academically selective secondary institutions. I understand what it feels like to be a test-taker under pressure, and I know what strategies actually work.
Product expertise
I've built products used by millions of people. I started my career in Investment Banking Technology at Goldman Sachs. I was then selected for Google's exclusive Associate Product Manager program, served as Uber's first Head of Product (and employee #20), and later founded my own company.
I bring a unique perspective to test preparation: applying world-class product design principles to educational content.

Data-driven insights
I approach learning challenges the same way I approached product challenges at Google and Uber: with data. OC Test Prep tracks detailed analytics about where students struggle most, how long they spend on different question types, and which practice patterns lead to the biggest improvements.
Tested with real users
I personally test the product with Year 3 and 4 students. I've watched children navigate the interface, observed where they get stuck, noted what motivates them, and iterated based on their real behaviour. This is a continual process.
User experience focus
Every feature is built with evidence-based learning principles — spaced repetition, immediate feedback, adaptive difficulty — but designed to feel engaging rather than overwhelming for young learners.

As a parent myself, I understand that test preparation needs to work within the reality of family life. OC Test Prep provides clear guidance without requiring deep educational expertise, and flexible scheduling that lets your child study anytime, anywhere even if it's for just 15 minutes.
